Hello everyone!
This past week has been super busy and fun. Me and my companion are pretty dead tired though, so we plan on relaxing a little this p day. Last Monday we didn't really do anything for p day and just relaxed. Tuesday and Wednesday we were able to do more service on one less actives farm. But it has been super incredibly hot lately. Most days last week you would just walk outside and start sweating. It wasn't fun. But we did work like normal regardless.
Wednesday we also had our Mission President, President Barrow, and his wife and son come out and visit us on the island. We only got to meet for maybe an hour and then we had to leave because of an appointment. President and Sister Barrow's son, Ben, is about 16 and is about to start school in Korea. Its actually a pretty normal thing, but they came to Jeju for a little family vacation before his school year starts. Then Thursday we had another service and it was probably the hottest day I've ever experienced in my whole life. Its just super humid and super hot here, being a tropical climate.
My Korean companion always tells me how Jeju just doesn't fell or seem like the rest of Korea. But anyways we had service then we had a lesson with our two only investigators right now. They are really awesome. Then on Friday we went with the Sisters to meet a referral that the got. It was an elderly man who had interest in family history. I have never taught about family history in English let alone Korean. So lets just say the lesson was fun. Korean is coming on pretty well. I'm still nowhere near close to being comfortable with the language, and I still have troubles speaking with people sometimes. But I have definitely learned a lot going through these struggles, and more than just Korean.
Next week is our last week of the transfer and that will make it my third here on the Island. Most missionaries in our mission stay in an are for about 3 and sometimes 4. So lately I've been able to reflect on my time spent here. Its seemed like so short a time but its been just about 4 months. I look at the struggles when I first came here and have been able to see the amount of progress I've made. I've still come nowhere near my goal but its been amazing for me to see, experience, and especially hear the blessings I've received from the lord.
The times that were the hardest are what motivated me. And while going through it then was very hard, I look back on it now and am so grateful that it happened. I still face similar challenges every week and sometimes everyday. But I know that there is always a way to overcome those challenges. Its been an awesome experience so far. Pretty soon it will be 9 months. Its gone by fast. I'm praying for you always. Good luck and I'll talk to you all again soon!
